Drugstore Find

I’ve decided to call any and all my new under $20 drugstore items: drugstore find.

I have been thinking about trying the L’oreal voluminous mascara for quite some time now. I generally use brown, purple, red brown or blue mascaras. My favorite of all those is blue. I always bought the YSL brand because of how nice my lashes would look. Once I found out L’oreal came out with blue, it was fate I had to have it. All I can say is it reminds me of YSL. The blue comes out nice, it smells nice and its under 11 or 12 bucks. I believe its about 8 or 9 bucks. I had to give up my YSL mascara habit because I would have to order online and it cost 30 plus dollars which is a lot even for me because you can’t use mascara over 1 1/2 months because its unsanitary….so happy with my drugstore find. My plans are to stock up on more hello bulk shopping!

Dry Combination Skin Issues

When people ask me how would I describe my skin I usually say dry/combination or dry sensitive. I had to really find products that work for me and I still do to this day. I realized I can’t do charcoal masks because my skin instantly burns, I can’t use the recovery type products from a famous brand because that also burns my skin upon application. One or two drugstore sun care item was so hard on my skin I had my face breakout in big acne. Real bad stuff. Apparently the AHAs are drying me out so bad I decided to do a switch up on my cleansers and I also bought a different moisturizer. I always had good luck with white tea products so I’m using the Burt’s bees oil cleanser then following up with white tea cleanser and once every 3-4 days I throw in an exfoliator that isn’t too tough on my now severely dry skin. Rough bumps are almost all gone. Thank goodness.

Burt’s Bees Cleansing Oil

After realizing I was running out of my last bottle of DHC cleansing oil, I thought about what cleansing oils were out on the market that were made for sensitive skin and under $30, I came across the burt’s bees one. I had been thinking about buying that cleansing oil for quite some time but I wasn’t sure. I saw the ingredients, the pricepoint and I was like whatever i’ll get it. WHAT A GOOD BUY. its 100% natural, its 6oz for about $15-17 depeneding on where you buy it. The scent is mild for something that has coconut in it and one pump is almost too much to cleanse off about 3 layers of my sunscreen I wear daily. So now as much as I hate to part with my dermalogica precleanse and my DHC cleansing oil, I’m excited to introduce my dry sensitive skin to burt’s bees! Next on my list their rose water

What to Pack When Traveling.

So its almost that time when I decide where to travel and my heart is set on the west coast. I always pack too much. I packed very little on my overseas trip yet I packed everything on my island getaway. Very unnecessary and I realized I had over the pack limit yet the nice guy was like ah its creams. Sorry guy!

So this time around I’m debating sample sized shampoo some makeup wipes but I do I take eye cream? has anyone given the Becca under eye brightener a try? I want that. I have dark eye circles. lol

Favorite Hair Products

I don’t know about everyone else but the winter was harsh on my hair. Not only was my hair dry it tangled and it lacked shine. I tried all sorts of products and realizing there were two items that worked perfect together.

What I started using for a month or so is the Rita Hazan triple threat split end remedy then I squeeze a nickel size of the oribe supershine moisturizing cream for shine. Not only does my hair smell like heaven I can airdry or blow dry with no hassle. Had I known the oribe cream was so good I would’ve bought 2 tubes! The great thing I found out was that the lighter version is an option for thinner hair and the supershine moisturizing the one I use is for thick coarse wavy/curly hair and some places carry the travel 1.7 oz size! Worth a try!

Changing Up Products.

In the past month or so, I had realized I was spending way too much money on makeup removers. I had to actually order things to get them so I figured not only will I save more money, I can save time. So one afternoon I bought like 4 different ones I hadn’t tried. I needed something that wiped off most of my sunscreen….and my favorite was: Neutrogena.

I actually bought both the scented and the unscented. I prefer original scented one. The scent is so good don’t know what it is…just so pretty and I don’t even like scented skincare that much. You get 25 wipes for under $5. I like to get mine at Target or Walmart they give you best prices.

Last but not least all things eucalyptus! I am currently obsessed with the Malin+Goetz deodorant. I try my best to steer far away from deodorants with aluminum in it but they always worked the best….but I tried to look for natural deodorants without…charcoal I think something about it makes my skin burn)and after about 4 trials and errors, I found the M+G deodorant. It smells like the blue Halls cough drop in a good way light, clean. I only use it once in the morning after I shower and I don’t ever have to reapply its so easy and wonderful.

I love Tarte cosmetics.

I read up on some items I had been interested in and I ended up purchasing the tarte 12hr highlighter powder and the contour tape concealer. I haven’t been this excited and happy about products since the Charlotte Tilbury stuff came out. Don’t get me wrong my go to products are between Charlotte Tilbury, it cosmetics, and Chantecaille. Having such sensitive skin and it being dry during the winter makes things harder. I noticed this sad dry patch that formed while I was on my trip and it just flaked it was so sad. I actually wished I had taken a tiny jar of Egyptian magic or aquaphor just so people wouldn’t stare at my odd flaky chin area. I need something to take away from imperfections. That’s where the tarte contour concealer and the highlighter come in.

I bought the contour concealer for one thing, my dark circles. Boy do they conceal. I was so happy I got it. I bought it in a darker color than my skin because my dark circles can get real bad depending on how little sleep or how bad I feel physically. The hightlighter is sold in three colors but I bought the darker shade possibly the darkest. I’ll have to check that later but all of them are beautiful. The powder is so velvety and it smells strongly of vanilla. So those 2 are new staples in my bag.

It cosmetics CC cream!

Hi there. its been forever since I updated! I feel so guilty but between traveling and getting things done I was so tired. I also had issues with my computer! I was reading posts and trying products though! Today I’m posting about my current favorite face product the It cosmetics your skin but better cc cream. I got a sample through Sephora a while back saved it for a rainy day. That rainy day ended up being New Years because after all the delicious foods and gatherings my skin took a toll on me.

So here’s what I can tell you about the product:

-texture is like a serum not too thin(dry skin people may love it I sure do)

-there is a scent to the product don’t know what it exactly is but to me it smells like lemon a hint of lemon

-one pump and a half or less will give you good coverage(yes I bought the full bottle after I ran out of my sample haha)

-the active ingredients are titanium dioxide 9.0% and zinc oxide 6.3%! its spf 50!

I like to put this on with a MAC fix+ soaked beauty blender. The product is truly “your skin but better” I like to throw this in my bag and have it on me at all times. Its so good! I use medium its a tad darker than my own skin so I find it complimentary. People actually ask me if I’m wearing makeup!
