Neutrogena extra gentle eye makeup remover pads

My mom is now a new convert to Neutrogena and she tells me there is an eye makeup removing pad out now I was all ears. I have the hooded lid issue and sometimes when I try to look good I’ll do a smoky or winged liner look and it takes something heavy duty that doesn’t come off. My choice of eyeliner being waterproof or something kajal(which is another drugstore find I plan to write about here next)

She bought the round jar last week and its been such a blessing. I was a big fan of the Clinique take the day off eye makeup remover but the price was steadily going up and it was hard on my eyes when i’d accidentally drip some into the corners of my eyes. So this mess proof not too thin reversible eye makeup remover for sensitive skin was exactly what I was searching for. The pads are thicker than most cotton pads and lets say you got most of your eye makeup off but need more off flip the pad over and wipe the remainder on the opposite side

Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant

I’d almost file this under drugstore find but in my case I found this deodorant I’ve been lusting after at Target! I read about the deodorant through beauty editors and it was high on my list to try. I try to go as natural as I can. I can honestly tell you some of the natural stuff does NOT work. I’ve tried different brands and as much as I love my Malin+Goetz I need something more convenient and affordable especially during the hot summer months.

I ended up purchasing the bergamot and lime one the green one and it smells just as it says. The brand carries different variety of scents.  Floral like rose and I believe there is a sandalwood type one too..which is my next choice.  I paid about 7-10bucks for the item and I couldn’t say enough about this lovely natural deodorant. I’m definitely purchasing another one when I use it up.

Drugstore Find: Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water

I bought the Garnier cleansing water(red lid) a couple weeks ago and I started using it this past week and I really like it. Dont get me wrong I still love my KGD spa water but its pricey and since I have to go through the nightmare of ordering and waiting for both the Bioderma and KGD I can just go to a drugstore spend less than $10 and grab a 13.5 oz bottle of this! I love cleansing waters on lazy days. I’ll soak 2 cottons with it because sometimes one cotton can’t take off all my tinted sunscreen! No reactions to the product and if im not wrong (dont quote me on this)I paid under 7 bucks for the Garnier cleansing water! Its fabulous!

Dry Combination Skin Issues

When people ask me how would I describe my skin I usually say dry/combination or dry sensitive. I had to really find products that work for me and I still do to this day. I realized I can’t do charcoal masks because my skin instantly burns, I can’t use the recovery type products from a famous brand because that also burns my skin upon application. One or two drugstore sun care item was so hard on my skin I had my face breakout in big acne. Real bad stuff. Apparently the AHAs are drying me out so bad I decided to do a switch up on my cleansers and I also bought a different moisturizer. I always had good luck with white tea products so I’m using the Burt’s bees oil cleanser then following up with white tea cleanser and once every 3-4 days I throw in an exfoliator that isn’t too tough on my now severely dry skin. Rough bumps are almost all gone. Thank goodness.

Burt’s Bees Cleansing Oil

After realizing I was running out of my last bottle of DHC cleansing oil, I thought about what cleansing oils were out on the market that were made for sensitive skin and under $30, I came across the burt’s bees one. I had been thinking about buying that cleansing oil for quite some time but I wasn’t sure. I saw the ingredients, the pricepoint and I was like whatever i’ll get it. WHAT A GOOD BUY. its 100% natural, its 6oz for about $15-17 depeneding on where you buy it. The scent is mild for something that has coconut in it and one pump is almost too much to cleanse off about 3 layers of my sunscreen I wear daily. So now as much as I hate to part with my dermalogica precleanse and my DHC cleansing oil, I’m excited to introduce my dry sensitive skin to burt’s bees! Next on my list their rose water

I love Tarte cosmetics.

I read up on some items I had been interested in and I ended up purchasing the tarte 12hr highlighter powder and the contour tape concealer. I haven’t been this excited and happy about products since the Charlotte Tilbury stuff came out. Don’t get me wrong my go to products are between Charlotte Tilbury, it cosmetics, and Chantecaille. Having such sensitive skin and it being dry during the winter makes things harder. I noticed this sad dry patch that formed while I was on my trip and it just flaked it was so sad. I actually wished I had taken a tiny jar of Egyptian magic or aquaphor just so people wouldn’t stare at my odd flaky chin area. I need something to take away from imperfections. That’s where the tarte contour concealer and the highlighter come in.

I bought the contour concealer for one thing, my dark circles. Boy do they conceal. I was so happy I got it. I bought it in a darker color than my skin because my dark circles can get real bad depending on how little sleep or how bad I feel physically. The hightlighter is sold in three colors but I bought the darker shade possibly the darkest. I’ll have to check that later but all of them are beautiful. The powder is so velvety and it smells strongly of vanilla. So those 2 are new staples in my bag.

Vitamin C Products +Antioxidant Moisturizers!

Today I want to talk about how I started using a vitamin c product as a result of a good sample from Dr Brandt! I’ve been trying to undo some of my old sun damage and acne scar marks.  I read about how vitamin c was potent and could improve past damage and that by using the vitamin c products you are more prone to burning so you needed a titanium dioxide or zinc oxide or both sunscreen over them. I started using the Dr Brandt vitamin c serum mixed with the Xtend Your Youth cream day and night for about 4 days and I was pretty happy with my skin that I finally bought both the vitamin c serum and the cream. I have been using the vitamin c serum and the cream together in the daytime and layering it with my skinceuticals spf 50 and at night, I use the XYY cream with a couple drops of the Trish Mcevoy antioxidant booster(sample) I see a big improvement with the lightening of my sunspots and the acne scars are fading little by little. I figured why not share this info! I wash my face with Kate Somerville’s exfoliKate cleanser, use a clarifying lotion from Clinique then follow with the vitamin c serum+antioxidant cream. That’s my routine but never forget your sunscreen!

The only problem I seem to have now is that my sunscreen makes me pale like a ghost. What I do to fix that is patting on some Becca rose gold shimmering skin perfector and finishing my look with the stila aqua glow concealer.
