Review: bareMinerals prime time bb cream spf 30 tinted

I don’t think I wrote a review for the product so I thought why not do it now. As you know by now, my skin is very sensitive and its dry. I’ve had great luck with some products others not so much. I have pretty good luck with bareMineral products with an exception to that popular goldish bottle tube tinted moisturizer looking one. Lucky for me it was a sample so I never thought about it again. Then one day I thought about what I’d do with the leftover foundations I’ve previously bought that are 1,2 shades too light(yes I’ve bought a couple embarrassing to admit). I needed something with sunscreen in it and something darker so I bought the bareminerals primetime primer cream the tinted version. I bought medium which was darker than I thought but once blended with the lighter foundation it was perfect.

It is thicker than most of the primers I know but very velvety in texture. The active ingredients are 2.6% titanium dioxide and 6.2% zinc oxide. Its a rather small bottle so it doesn’t even seem like its 1oz but it is and its perfect to mix with foundation they also carry a nontint and light shade. Doesn’t irritate my sensitive dry skin but everyone is different but I can tell you my skin will freak out at random ingredients in sunscreen maybe its a certain sunscreen and eye shadow. I had to quit using certain brand sunscreen (3 brands to be exact)and one famous cosmetic brands eye shadow after repeated red dry skin formed and i’d get teary eyed and itch my eyelids forever.

While I was Sleeping…

So I’m off the whole social media thing barely checking email I log in and everyone is pregnant or moving. What the heck. I need to get out more because I’m not finding opportunities of meeting people. The only guy I find remotely my type is the guy down the street.

I like the whole idea of being pregnant and being so far along not telling people and going YUP surpise! The only thing I’m worried about right now is how dry my hair and skin is. I can’t even really focus I still have to send in my applications too. I haven’t bought my tickets yet and its when I’m still behind that a random friend emails me to ask me what I did this summer. For once I was like dental work. I have to head back to the dentist at the end of the month but aside from that I’m an open book.

I thought about the 120 or 150 degree heat in California and I was like I’m not going to complain because things could be worse. I don’t know how I make it in the 90s.

I did discover the Neutrogena hydrating wipes and now its all i’ll need makeup remover wise. My days of lusting for Koh Gen Do wipes are long gone. The original Neutrogena wipes were good but these hydrating ones are amazing on my dry skin.

Gathering Thoughts. I forget.

So here’s two more Drugstore Finds which I’m just going to label rather than title it that while I remember. I wasn’t sure if I wrote about the product here but L’oreal hydrafresh toner. I’m using that right now from time to time. Its alcohol free and it smells like heaven blessed it. Its got salicylic acid in it so if you feel a tad lazy and you don’t want to exfoliate, this toner may work for you. I bought it for about 7bucks and its 8.5 oz. It says you can use it day and night and I ended up purchasing this over the Neutrogena toner.

As for Neutrogena, I had this flashback of when I was younger and owned a tube of the Norwegian formula hand cream. Not only was I very pleased with the moisturizing element of the product, it always smelled nice. Not overpowering or strong in a bad way. I must say just about every product Neutrogena I’ve bought smells like a dream. I bought a tube at Walmart for under 4 bucks. I couldn’t believe it. I have officially decided to give up my $12+ L’occitane hand cream because its not as thick as Neutrogena.  the hand cream is now a staple of mine!

Neutrogena extra gentle eye makeup remover pads

My mom is now a new convert to Neutrogena and she tells me there is an eye makeup removing pad out now I was all ears. I have the hooded lid issue and sometimes when I try to look good I’ll do a smoky or winged liner look and it takes something heavy duty that doesn’t come off. My choice of eyeliner being waterproof or something kajal(which is another drugstore find I plan to write about here next)

She bought the round jar last week and its been such a blessing. I was a big fan of the Clinique take the day off eye makeup remover but the price was steadily going up and it was hard on my eyes when i’d accidentally drip some into the corners of my eyes. So this mess proof not too thin reversible eye makeup remover for sensitive skin was exactly what I was searching for. The pads are thicker than most cotton pads and lets say you got most of your eye makeup off but need more off flip the pad over and wipe the remainder on the opposite side

Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant

I’d almost file this under drugstore find but in my case I found this deodorant I’ve been lusting after at Target! I read about the deodorant through beauty editors and it was high on my list to try. I try to go as natural as I can. I can honestly tell you some of the natural stuff does NOT work. I’ve tried different brands and as much as I love my Malin+Goetz I need something more convenient and affordable especially during the hot summer months.

I ended up purchasing the bergamot and lime one the green one and it smells just as it says. The brand carries different variety of scents.  Floral like rose and I believe there is a sandalwood type one too..which is my next choice.  I paid about 7-10bucks for the item and I couldn’t say enough about this lovely natural deodorant. I’m definitely purchasing another one when I use it up.

Drugstore Find: Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water

I bought the Garnier cleansing water(red lid) a couple weeks ago and I started using it this past week and I really like it. Dont get me wrong I still love my KGD spa water but its pricey and since I have to go through the nightmare of ordering and waiting for both the Bioderma and KGD I can just go to a drugstore spend less than $10 and grab a 13.5 oz bottle of this! I love cleansing waters on lazy days. I’ll soak 2 cottons with it because sometimes one cotton can’t take off all my tinted sunscreen! No reactions to the product and if im not wrong (dont quote me on this)I paid under 7 bucks for the Garnier cleansing water! Its fabulous!

Dry Combination Skin Issues

When people ask me how would I describe my skin I usually say dry/combination or dry sensitive. I had to really find products that work for me and I still do to this day. I realized I can’t do charcoal masks because my skin instantly burns, I can’t use the recovery type products from a famous brand because that also burns my skin upon application. One or two drugstore sun care item was so hard on my skin I had my face breakout in big acne. Real bad stuff. Apparently the AHAs are drying me out so bad I decided to do a switch up on my cleansers and I also bought a different moisturizer. I always had good luck with white tea products so I’m using the Burt’s bees oil cleanser then following up with white tea cleanser and once every 3-4 days I throw in an exfoliator that isn’t too tough on my now severely dry skin. Rough bumps are almost all gone. Thank goodness.

Burt’s Bees Cleansing Oil

After realizing I was running out of my last bottle of DHC cleansing oil, I thought about what cleansing oils were out on the market that were made for sensitive skin and under $30, I came across the burt’s bees one. I had been thinking about buying that cleansing oil for quite some time but I wasn’t sure. I saw the ingredients, the pricepoint and I was like whatever i’ll get it. WHAT A GOOD BUY. its 100% natural, its 6oz for about $15-17 depeneding on where you buy it. The scent is mild for something that has coconut in it and one pump is almost too much to cleanse off about 3 layers of my sunscreen I wear daily. So now as much as I hate to part with my dermalogica precleanse and my DHC cleansing oil, I’m excited to introduce my dry sensitive skin to burt’s bees! Next on my list their rose water
