Switching Up Routines

I used to start my day with either the eve lom morning cleanser or a cleansing water if not a cleanser with vitamin c in it. Right now after reading the one interview with Charlotte Gainsbourg I instantly had to have the evian water spray. She was talking about how she spritzes it on her face in the morning then wipes her face with cotton or something. Just really simple but cool so I started doing that in the mornings and I was still dry and I added a new non-alcohol toner the Mario Badescu aloe one. I am so happy with the MB aloe toner I had to write about it. that’s step 2 in the morning and then I finish off with a nice cream like Dr. Hauschka or Dermalogica.

Nights I will start my removing process with either burt’s bees or the sample of Erno Laszlo Phelityl oil. To my surprise they both smell similar like a more lovely version of J&J products. Very soft and almost powdery. Then I’ll wash my face with a white tea cleanser tone with MB aloe toner and slap on some dermalogica.

My makeup routine has changed too. I’m on my very last bit of the it cosmetics your skin but better cc cream (which I plan to repurchase)and I just recently bought a bottle of the Chanel vitalumiere aqua foundation. It has a strong scent to it but the thinness is nice to blend with my regular tinted sunscreens. I mix the two and then I tap on some tarte shape tape in medium and finish my look with some by terry cream blush. lip products I switch around but I feel like my summer products are going to be between 3 items: the Charlotte Tilbury light wonder in #4, the Chanel vitalumiere aqua, and the it cosmetics cc cream but I’m leaning towards the new illuminating one to cut me some slack of blending items. Oh I want the Charlotte Gainsbourg + Nars skin shimmering thingy. don’t know the official name but I want it….im still shocked she chopped off her locks.

Drugstore Find

I’ve decided to call any and all my new under $20 drugstore items: drugstore find.

I have been thinking about trying the L’oreal voluminous mascara for quite some time now. I generally use brown, purple, red brown or blue mascaras. My favorite of all those is blue. I always bought the YSL brand because of how nice my lashes would look. Once I found out L’oreal came out with blue, it was fate I had to have it. All I can say is it reminds me of YSL. The blue comes out nice, it smells nice and its under 11 or 12 bucks. I believe its about 8 or 9 bucks. I had to give up my YSL mascara habit because I would have to order online and it cost 30 plus dollars which is a lot even for me because you can’t use mascara over 1 1/2 months because its unsanitary….so happy with my drugstore find. My plans are to stock up on more hello bulk shopping!

I love Tarte cosmetics.

I read up on some items I had been interested in and I ended up purchasing the tarte 12hr highlighter powder and the contour tape concealer. I haven’t been this excited and happy about products since the Charlotte Tilbury stuff came out. Don’t get me wrong my go to products are between Charlotte Tilbury, it cosmetics, and Chantecaille. Having such sensitive skin and it being dry during the winter makes things harder. I noticed this sad dry patch that formed while I was on my trip and it just flaked it was so sad. I actually wished I had taken a tiny jar of Egyptian magic or aquaphor just so people wouldn’t stare at my odd flaky chin area. I need something to take away from imperfections. That’s where the tarte contour concealer and the highlighter come in.

I bought the contour concealer for one thing, my dark circles. Boy do they conceal. I was so happy I got it. I bought it in a darker color than my skin because my dark circles can get real bad depending on how little sleep or how bad I feel physically. The hightlighter is sold in three colors but I bought the darker shade possibly the darkest. I’ll have to check that later but all of them are beautiful. The powder is so velvety and it smells strongly of vanilla. So those 2 are new staples in my bag.

It cosmetics CC cream!

Hi there. its been forever since I updated! I feel so guilty but between traveling and getting things done I was so tired. I also had issues with my computer! I was reading posts and trying products though! Today I’m posting about my current favorite face product the It cosmetics your skin but better cc cream. I got a sample through Sephora a while back saved it for a rainy day. That rainy day ended up being New Years because after all the delicious foods and gatherings my skin took a toll on me.

So here’s what I can tell you about the product:

-texture is like a serum not too thin(dry skin people may love it I sure do)

-there is a scent to the product don’t know what it exactly is but to me it smells like lemon a hint of lemon

-one pump and a half or less will give you good coverage(yes I bought the full bottle after I ran out of my sample haha)

-the active ingredients are titanium dioxide 9.0% and zinc oxide 6.3%! its spf 50!

I like to put this on with a MAC fix+ soaked beauty blender. The product is truly “your skin but better” I like to throw this in my bag and have it on me at all times. Its so good! I use medium its a tad darker than my own skin so I find it complimentary. People actually ask me if I’m wearing makeup!

Vitamin C Products +Antioxidant Moisturizers!

Today I want to talk about how I started using a vitamin c product as a result of a good sample from Dr Brandt! I’ve been trying to undo some of my old sun damage and acne scar marks.  I read about how vitamin c was potent and could improve past damage and that by using the vitamin c products you are more prone to burning so you needed a titanium dioxide or zinc oxide or both sunscreen over them. I started using the Dr Brandt vitamin c serum mixed with the Xtend Your Youth cream day and night for about 4 days and I was pretty happy with my skin that I finally bought both the vitamin c serum and the cream. I have been using the vitamin c serum and the cream together in the daytime and layering it with my skinceuticals spf 50 and at night, I use the XYY cream with a couple drops of the Trish Mcevoy antioxidant booster(sample) I see a big improvement with the lightening of my sunspots and the acne scars are fading little by little. I figured why not share this info! I wash my face with Kate Somerville’s exfoliKate cleanser, use a clarifying lotion from Clinique then follow with the vitamin c serum+antioxidant cream. That’s my routine but never forget your sunscreen!

The only problem I seem to have now is that my sunscreen makes me pale like a ghost. What I do to fix that is patting on some Becca rose gold shimmering skin perfector and finishing my look with the stila aqua glow concealer.

July 2016 Empties

-Koh Gen Do cleansing water

-Josie Maran moisturizer with spf 47

-Dr. Bronner castille soap “lavender”

-Dr. Hauschka rose day light cream

-Ouai repair conditioner

all great products not one negative thing to say about them. I don’t know which one I love better the KGD water or the wipes…they both smell fresh and take off sunscreen like no other.

Rediscovering Items

When Im not using my stila bb cream I like to use my new favorite sunscreens: tarteguard, josie maran’s spf47, and my skinceuticals one. I had always wanted to try something from skinceuticals and I can’t really afford the C E Ferulic so the sunscreen was my introduction item.  The skinceuticals sunscreen is great it blends onto skin nice it leaves a light white shade but I chose the non tinted so its ok. No sensitivity to the product and the high spf is a big bonus! I had misplaced my Hourglass palette(the one with the bronzer, blush and pearly powders)and I found it so now that my face is so pale and white from sunscreen what better than bronzer.  I really like the Hourglass powder palette don’t know if its limited edition but if its not I highly recommend it. The bronzer is very easy to brush on you can build it up to your liking. I think the shade is universal. The blush in there isn’t loud and in your face either. I like that. I can see myself brushing both products and maybe the white pearly one under my eyes so wake me up! Love love love the powder palette.

I still want to get the creamy palette and their serum no. 28 it looks soooo good. Has anyone tried it or owned it?? I might buy a bottle when I go on travel the next time! Looks very cool and everyone using it on sephora photos look phenomenal!

Josie Maran Cleansing Oil + Moisturizer with spf

Things I tried this week: Josie Maran argan cleansing oil, Josie Maran moisturizer with spf, and last but not least the Bobbi Brown cleansing oil. Here are my thoughts!

JM argan cleansing oil-The scent is at first strong but grows on you the texture is not thick or thin its just right. It goes on smooth and feels real nice on your skin. Once I washed it off I was very pleased with how clean my face looked no spf residue or anything but I did use the whole sample packet.

Jm moisturizer with spf-comes in simple and lovely glass. There is a light scent of citrus which is very nice. Initially it looks white but once blended on not as visible and perfect as a primer under your bb cream! I was told my skin looked dewy and nice.

Bobbi Brown cleansing oil has cool ingredients in it one of them was jasmine which I love. I don’t think it smells as strong as the JM one but its thinner and I like my cleansing oils a bit thicker but it did get my sunblock off I know why its a popular makeup remover.

My favorite product out of all 3? The JM cleansing oil Im going to purchase a bottle once my current cleansing oil is empty.

Mac Fix+ and Stila Aqua Glow Concealer

I’m always looking for a way to moisturize and not look cakey during the summer and I come across an article either about how you can spray your beautyblender.  The first thing I thought was that’s odd but then again I’m always dry and I just happen to have a bottle of fix + I bought on recommendation a while back. When I was in my early 20s I was a big MAC fan but it kinda faded and I started buying French cosmetics because its all my friends used. My friends were mostly Dior cosmetic girls. Others YSL. So I used those. My MAC fix + sat on my dresser for a while…

I washed my bb, lightly drained the water out with a clean towel let it air dry some and then sprayed it with the fix + then dabbed the sponge onto my hand where I had some stila bb cream on and it applied so smooth and I didn’t have to spray my face mid day with anything! Not a lot of patchy areas too! Im using a lot of stila right now. My friend turned me to that too. lol  So my newest purchase is the stila aqua glow concealer. Its very unique. It has this glass or plastic applicator and you squeeze the tube to get just enough and a little goes a long way. I bought this concealer as a replacement to the one Im currently using. Im using this burberry click type one but it has been hard. I’ve found myself clicking on that pen like a nut to find it not come out and giving up or finding it finally came out and oozed onto the insides of the lid. Don’t get me wrong, I love it. Everything from the packaging to the shade but Im always on the go and I can’t be clicking away on a product I can’t get out on time or just waste it inside the lid. I need a good reliable concealer and I found it in the stila aqua glow! I’d get it again for sure.  Has anyone seen the new Urban Decay Moondust palette? The colors are so pretty. Im also really tempted to try the one and done…I’ll have to check those out in person!

iPod Broke and Im Devastated

Im so devastated about my iPod giving out. My friend and her brother say I can get the battery looked at but I don’t know. If its going to cost a fortune Im almost tempted to replace it for a newer one. When you really need to save money, things just have to break! Im already trying to get some more pricey skin products to combat my sunspots and acne and now my iPod? I almost dropped my macbook and I was like great I can just break everything at once and just have my iPad. lol

Anyway I do have some skincare update and funny I say this now after not even giving it a shot but Im really digging the Mario Badescu drying lotion. Very good stuff. Im really trying my best to not touch my face when I breakout. After the one cream I won’t mention broke me out from my cheek to chin area I got all scarred up and Im trying to work on clearing that out with good skincare. Its strong so I would not recommend going near the sun with the product or putting it all over just on the new spots you want to go away. The AHAs products really clear my skin in general but the sun sensitivity is scary. Here I’m trying to improve sunspots but I forget I like to be by the sun for no reason sometimes. So Im currently using a bb cream with peptides and higher spf. Im cleansing with kate somerville’s foaming cleanser but I replaced the eradiKate with Mario Badescu.

My iPod couldn’t have broken at a better time because Im still trying to get a high spf product and replace my now empty night cream. I feel like if everything breaks, I might just stick with a bigger memory iPad or the thin macbook.
